Applicant privacy notice
What we collect when you apply to drive with Shophr, why, who sees it and how long we keep it.
1. The short version
- We use your answers only to consider you for a driver job at Shophr.
- Only the people hiring at Shophr see them. We never sell them or share them for ads.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete them at support@shophr.co.
2. What we collect
- You
- Your first and last name, the name you go by, your email, your mobile number and the ZIP code you’d start from.
- Yes or no
- Whether you’re at least 21 (for our insurance), whether you’re authorized to work in the United States, whether you have a car you can use for work and it’s insured with you on the policy, and whether you have a valid California driver’s license.
- When you can work
- The times of the week you could work, how much you’d like to work, and when you could start.
- Your car
- Its year, make, model and color, and whether it’s electric, a hybrid or gas. Not the plate.
- About you
- How long you’ve been licensed, any fashion or retail experience you tell us, your phone type, the languages you speak, why Shophr, a resume link and how you heard about us, if you give them.
- Your choices
- When you ticked that you’d read this notice (and which version), that everything is true, and whether you asked us to text you about your application.
- The desk's notes
- Where your application stands, who moved it and when, and our notes about it.
3. What we never ask on the application
Criminal history, your date of birth, what you’re paid now or were paid before, your Social Security number, your license number, your citizenship or immigration status, a photo of you, your social media, your gender, your health or any disability.
If we offer you the job, the offer depends on a background check and a driving record check. We'll ask your permission then, on separate forms. We don't ask about criminal history on this application.
4. Why we use it
- To consider you for a driver job at Shophr, and to contact you about your application.
- To plan shifts and the parts of the city we can cover.
- To keep the records the law asks employers to keep.
5. Who sees it
Only the people at Shophr who hire drivers. We never sell it, and we never share it for advertising.
The companies that run our systems for us hold it on our behalf and use it only to do that: our database and hosting (Supabase and Vercel) and our email (Resend). If we make you an offer, the background check company you give permission to works from separate forms.
6. Texts
Texting is optional and unticked unless you tick it, and nothing is texted yet. Either way we’ll be in touch by email or phone, and your private page always shows where your application stands. The words you’d agree to are:
“Text me about my application. Shophr will text this number when my application moves forward. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Not required to apply.”
7. How long we keep it
- An application you started but didn’t send is deleted 30 days after your last answer.
- If we hire you, your application becomes part of your employee record.
- If we don’t, we keep it for four years, as California asks employers to.
8. Seeing, correcting or deleting it
Email support@shophr.co from the address you applied with, and tell us what you’d like. We’ll answer, and we’ll tell you if the law asks us to keep something.
9. Who we are
Shophr Corporation, 925 N La Brea Ave, Suite 500, Los Angeles, CA 90038. support@shophr.co. This is version 2026-09-23 of this notice; the privacy policy for the rest of the site is at shophr.co/privacy.
